After Gimbal cameras, Vivo could work on two new camera technologies, trademark filing reveals
Vivo earlier this year launched the X60 series with a camera system that supports gimbal-type stabilization. Camera technology debuted in the X50 series launched in 2020. The smartphone giant is known to offer innovative camera technology in its devices. It looks like Vivo could launch new phones with two new camera technologies. According to a trademark registration spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma, Vivo could launch its devices with Microlens and MicroPrism camera technology. Let’s take a look at Vivo’s trademark for its new camera technology.
Vivo Microlens, Microprism trademark registration
Vivo has registered a trademark for two new camera technologies. The company may soon launch phones with micro-prism camera technology. The other trademark relates to Microlens camera technology. The two brands, spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma, aka Stufflistings, doesn’t reveal any further details about the technology.
The micro-lens camera technology could be similar to that found on the Oppo Find X3 Pro. The device has a 3MP micro lens that supports 60x zoom. Vivo could use the technology first launched by its Chinese counterpart.
MicroPrism, on the other hand, could be used to improve the focusing capabilities of the camera, especially for telephoto. When zooming in, micro-prism technology can help the sensor focus on a distant or small subject. The same implementation can also be done on a micro or macro lens.
As mentioned above, the trademark registration doesn’t reveal much about the two camera technologies. We’ll have to wait for the company to officially announce some details for more information. The company is known for its camera technology in smartphones and we wouldn’t be surprised if future Vivo phones could be equipped with this trademark technology.
