Bytedance applies for trademark registration for “Tik ton Cloud Game”
In the past two years, there have been some disputes between ByteDance and Tencent. In February, Bytedance launched its official Bytedance Games website with its brand name “Chaoxiguangnian” and the English name is NVERSEGAME. This is only an indication that Bytedance is interested in integrating its gaming company and make it one of the company’s flagship projects. Interestingly, Tencent has worked in the past to create cloud games; sources reveal that these new games will be available soon in addition to the regular games.
Another company called Beijing Zitiao Network Technology Co., Ltd. also added a number of trademark applications for something called “Tik Ton Cloud Game”. Advertising sales, education and entertainment, communication services, design research, scientific instruments, etc. will fall into this category. Trademarks always bear the sign “application for registration”.
The trademark of Douyin Cloud Game has changed. The new one is equipped with a high definition logo made up of two colors: the classic neon red and blue. Moreover, it also comes with the added lighting element. A few sources have mentioned that this means Douyin Cloud games will be fast and have low latency.
Interestingly, ByteDance may have already built a prototype and hopefully the company will bring the prototype to the market soon.
With all the work that takes place on the development of 5G, game companies are increasingly working on cloud game development. With the advent of 5G technology, cloud gaming is also becoming the key project for most of the game companies. Tencent, Netease, Douyu, etc. have all launched corresponding products that can place high IT load on cloud servers and lower device threshold for gamers. However, the cloud games in question can also be used to play 3A masterpieces on various mobile phones.
