Chelsea eye left-back trio; Everton back for former English ace?
Chelsea are looking for left-backs from Everton, Ajax and Barcelona to replace injured Ben Chilwell, while Everton could bring Ross Barkley back to Goodison …
CHELSEA BOUND WITH TRIO TO REPLACE CHILWELL
Days before the January window opens, Chelsea are rethinking their approach following Ben Chilwell’s injury.
England left-back is set to miss the rest of the season and his knee injury could also keep him on the sidelines until the next term.
Thomas Tuchel would therefore consider replacing Chilwell by adding a new full-back to his team.
Fabrice Romano says Chelsea’s first call will be to Everton to inquire about Lucas Digne, who has fallen out of favor with Rafael Benitez.
Sergino Dest is also an option, with the Barcelona defender among the players for sale as the Catalans look to raise funds, although Bayern Munich have been linked with the American star.
the Daily mail also hints at Chelsea’s interest in Nico Tagliafico, with Ajax saying they are ready to listen to offers from the 29-year-old who has previously been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City.

EVERTON BORROW BARKLEY SUBMISSION
Chelsea could get a discount on Digne or Dest with Barca and Everton have said they like some of Tuchel’s players …
Barca want to bring Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen to Camp Nou, with Gerard Moreno signaling that an agreement in principle has been reached between Azpilicueta and the Catalans. Although Barca may simply wait until next summer to sign the pair for free, rather than pledging a face amount next month.
Everton could offer Chelsea a deal involving Ross Barkley, with the former England midfielder reported by the Telegraph be a loan target for the Toffees. Barkley moved to Chelsea from Everton for £ 15million in 2018 but struggled to find a regular spot at Stamford Bridge.
RAPHINHA WILL NOT FORCE LEED OUT
Chelsea have been credited in recent days with an interest in Raphinha. They are not the only onesâ¦
Liverpool’s interest in the Leeds winger has been around for a long time, while Bayern Munich also love the Brazilian.
But the Mirror reports that although Raphinha will eventually move on, the 25-year-old is reluctant to spoil his relationship with Leeds fans by demanding a transfer.
TOON LINKED WITH BARCA, THE STARS OF BRAZIL
With their last game of 2021 postponed, Newcastle, in theory, could have some new faces through the gate by the time they enter the pitch again.
Marca believes the Magpies are sniffing around Samuel Umtiti while the Barcelona defender is firmly committed to his big contract at Camp Nou despite the club’s best efforts to get him out.
the Mirror say Newcastle also like Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa, but the 25-year-old would rather stay with Flamengo.
