Marietta accepts public feedback on changes to its Community Development Block Grant
The Town of Marietta is proposing an amendment to the annual action plan required for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Before it comes into effect, the city will collect public comments and hold a hearing.
The HUD Exchange describes CDBG as follows:
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program provides annual formula-based grants to states, cities, and counties to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and living environments, and expanding opportunities economic, mainly for low- and middle-income households. – income earners.
Recipients of these federal grants are required to prepare an annual action plan.
In this year’s plan, PY2022, the city proposes to transfer funds as shown in the table below.
In each of the proposed changes, funds are transferred from another part of the block grant to the Provision of Housing Rehabilitation Services.
There will be a public comment period starting August 15 and ending September 15. A public hearing will be held on September 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Development Office. 268 Lawrence Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060.

This amendment is classified as substantial and warrants a public comment period of at least 30 days. The public comment period begins on August 15 and ends on September 15.
