Whenever a new trademark is filed by The Pokémon Company International, fans can usually get a glimpse of the meaning of the product it will be used for based on the name and details. Thanks to PokeBeachhowever, fans now know VSTAR Universe (VSTARユニバース) has been trademarked and will likely be used as a reprint or special set when it launches in Japan.

There are no details regarding the brand or set available, but the name of the set VSTAR Universe fits well with the Pokemon OCG Climax VMAX since last November. In this set, players could get many of the most popular or most used cards from previous sets this year, as well as new rare character cards.

Essentially this means that TPC is likely to use VSTAR UNIVERSE as a means of reprinting some of the hunting cards from sets released in 2022.

This could also be used as a send to Sword and Shield the era of the card game, with Pokemon Scarlet and Purple is expected to release in November 2022. Typically, whenever a new generation of Pokemon game launches, a collection of cards featuring Pokémon from those games were released shortly after.

Fans have recently seen most of the setlist for the upcoming Despiser of time and space juggler sets, which will launch for OCG players on April 8, and there will likely be more information on the May games dark fantasy and August Lost Abyss together soon too.
